Solar System Activation

Congratulations! You’re almost there.

Your local utility and jurisdiction will need to provide you with final permission to connect your solar panels to the grid, but at this point it’s just a matter of time. This is the final phase, which is called Permission to Operate (PTO).

Once your local utility company is ready, they will come out to your home and install your new bi-directional net meter, which measures how much energy you consume from the grid, as well as how much excess energy you send back to the grid.

Because this is entirely dependent upon your local utility, SOLAR WISE cannot control how long this final step takes. We tell our customers to expect a maximum of a couple weeks in most cases.

The final step will be the team giving you a full demonstration on how to use your new solar system. You can plan on 1-2 hours for this part. The goal is to make sure you’re comfortable with all the “bells and whistles” before we complete the project.
